Step 1. APPLY
Apply for KSC membership by filling in the application form to let us know you are interested.
It is important for becoming a member that you READ and ACCEPT the Kayak Share Club Terms and Conditions, Waiver and Guidelines.
You will be contacted within a few days to organise a Come n Try - Welcome Paddle and/or a paddle safety training session and hear of the acceptance of your membership application.
Step 2. PAY Paddle Australia (NSW) insurance fees - $80 for 12 months from date of payment
This is for 24/7 paddle personal accident and public liability insurance coverage. Pay online at
https://paddle.org.au/join/# by selecting -Recreational Adult (senior member) AND select Kayak Share Club to ensure you are affiliated with KSC as a member. You will receive confirmation from PA NSW and details to pay KSC fees.
Step 3. Pay Kayak Share Club Membership Fees - $80 for 12 months
KSC fees can be paid by bank transfer to St George Bank,
Account Name Kayak Share Club Inc, BSB 112 879, Acc 424 568 943.
Both fees are for 12 months from the date of Paddle Australia (NSW)payment.
After we receive confirmation of your Paddle Australia membership you will be booked into the next available Paddle Safety Training Session.
The training session covers paddle technique, maritime regulations and capsize /self-rescue and assisting in a rescue. Training Sessions are usually held 8-11am on a Saturday. Dates will depend on an instructor’s availability. It's a great opportunity to meet up with other members.
You will be then added to the Kayak Share Club's WhatsApps: for Kayak Bookings and Kayak Social. (Please make sure you have installed WhatsApp into your smart phone.)
After the training, codes to the combination locks for each kayak will be emailed.
The next day you are set to - book a kayak and paddle off.
1. First renew membership with Paddle Australia (NSW), $80 as a Recreational kayaker Adult (senior member) and select our Kayak Share Club for affiliation
for 24/7 paddle personal accident and public liability insurance coverage
2. Then renew Kayak Share Club membership fees, $80 by bank transfer to St George Bank,
Account Name: Kayak Share Club Inc, BSB 112 879, Acc 424 568 943.
Please give reference to the name of the member renewing.
Both fees are for 12 months from the date of your Paddle Australia NSW eg purchased 20/4/20 expires 19/4/21. And off to another great year of paddling!

When do I get the codes to the kayak locks?
The codes to kayaks are emailed after completing the Paddle Safety Training and agreement to the KCS Terms and Conditions. We recommend to store the codes in your Smartphone ‘Notes’.
How can I reserve a kayak?
Kayaks can be booked for 1 hour to 3-hour time slots per day and up to 3 days ahead. A booking time slot can be extended on the day if there are no later bookings for the kayak made on the day. Eg ‘Chris booking Tarpon 7-10am Tuesday’, ‘Chris extending Tarpon 10-12pm Tuesday’. Remember to cancel a booking if you decide not to go out., ‘Cancelling Tarpon Wednesday 6-8am’
Do I need to be able to swim?
Provided you are wearing a well-fitted life jacket and are always with a competent paddler who you have informed, it is not a prerequisite to be able to swim.
What are some hazards to be aware of?
Harbour Ferries (they ALWAYS have right-of-way), fishing lines, rebound of waves off sea walls and rocky points, rocks and oysters, submerged logs, and quiet boats behind you!
How do I hear of any KSC events?
We are very new, January 2019! Day trips and social events are put on KSC SOCIAL WhatsApp.
