FAQS

When do I get the codes to the kayak locks?

The codes to kayaks will be provided via the booking system, Shlott, after completing the Paddle Safety Training and agreement to the KSC Terms and Conditions.

How can I reserve a kayak?

Kayaks can be booked using an online booking system that members are given access to after joining. Kayaks can be booked for 1 hour to 3 hour time slots per day and up to 3 days ahead. A booking time slot can be extended on the day if there are no later bookings for the kayak made on the day. Remember to cancel a booking if you decide not to go out.,

Do I need to be able to swim?

Provided you are wearing a well-fitted life jacket and are always with a competent paddler who you have informed, it is not a prerequisite to be able to swim.

What are some hazards to be aware of?

Harbour Ferries (they ALWAYS have right-of-way), fishing lines, rebound of waves off sea walls and rocky points, rocks and oysters, submerged logs, and quiet boats behind you!

How do I hear of any KSC events?

Day trips and monthly social-off-the-water events are put on Kayak SOCIAL and KSC NOTICES WhatsApps.
