HOW TO JOIN

Step 1.    Fill in the Application form 

To join, please fill in the application form. 

On the application form for becoming a member, you will need to READ and ACCEPT the Kayak Share Club Terms and Conditions, Waiver, and Guidelines. 

You will then receive a brief confirmation message that your application has been received, ....if not, please repeat with the correct email address!


Step 2.    Monitor your emails on the 20th of each month (except May, June, July, and August) and be ready to respond! All applicants will receive an email on the  20th of each month (except in May, June, July, and August) of the next month's two training sessions for new members.  Spots are given on a 'first in' basis for the training session for new members. 

Applicants who do not reply to the training date email are removed from all future mail-outs. This is our best way to manage the many wishing to join. It is no longer a waiting list.


Step 3.    Wait to receive an email confirming your training session date, before paying any fees. The 2 membership fees are required one week before the training to secure your spot: 


Paddle Australia (NSW)  insurance fees are $80  for 12 months from the date of payment This is for 24/7 paddle personal accident and public liability coverage. 

Pay fees online at https://paddle.org.au  by selecting  - Recreational,  NSW, Adult (senior member) AND selecting Kayak Share Club (NOT Paddle Australia Direct) to ensure you are affiliated with KSC as a member. You will then receive payment confirmation from PA NSW and details to pay KSC fees. 


Kayak Share Club Membership Fees  are $80 for 12 months 

KSC fees can be paid by bank transfer to St George Bank, 

Account Name Kayak Share Club Inc, BSB 112 879, Acc 424 568 943.

Both fees are for 12 months from the date of Paddle Australia (NSW)payment.


TO PADDLE 

To use a kayak every member joining needs to complete first  Paddle Safety Training. 

The training session covers paddle technique, safety on the harbour, weather monitoring, capsize and self-rescue,  and assisting in a rescue. Training Sessions are usually held 7.30-11 am, on one Saturday and Tuesday per month. Dates will depend on the instructor’s availability and weather. 

After the training session, you will be then added to the club's new online kayak booking system to make your own kayak bookings and invited to Kayak Social, a WhatsApp group for members only. (Please make sure you have  installed WhatsApp into your smartphone.)
