HOW TO JOIN
Every new member needs to first complete a Paddle Safety Training Session. It covers paddle technique, safety on the harbour, weather monitoring, capsize and self-rescue, and assisting in the rescue. Training sessions are usually held 7.30 - 11.30am on Saturday or Sunday.
Once the training dates are confirmed, they will be listed below on the KSC website. A spot can be booked by following the link to our Paddle Australia Just Go event booking system.
Please note that you need to bring your own paddle and lifejacket. See the list of recommended equipment for further details.
After the training session you will be added to the booking platform to make your kayak bookings, and our WhatsApp Community to link up with fellow members and arrange kayak trips.
KSC Membership fees:
- New members - $250 for year one. Covering the $50 joining fee including the Paddle Safety training plus $200 (Kayak Share Club annual fee of $100 and Paddle Australia annual fee of $100). The Paddle Australia fee is mandatory and provides membership of PA and excellent paddle personal accident and public liability coverage.
- Existing members - $200 annually. ($100 for the Kayak Share Club annual fee and $100 for the Paddle Australia annual fee).

If the training is booked out, it will appear as "Out of stock" on the Paddle Australia booking portal.
New training sessions are added regularly, so be sure to check the website for the latest updates!
