HOW TO JOIN

THANK YOU for your interest in becoming a member of the KSC!

Please note that the club is at capacity and we are not accepting new members until next season which starts in October.

Every new member needs to first complete a Paddle Safety Training Session. It covers paddle technique, safety on the harbour, weather monitoring, capsize and self-rescue, and assisting in the rescue. Training sessions are usually held 7.30 - 11.30 am, one Saturday or Sunday per month.

Once the training dates are confirmed, they will be listed below on the KSC website. A spot can be booked by following the link to our Paddle Australia Just Go event booking system. We are no longer maintaining a waiting list for new members.

Please note that you need to provide your own paddle and lifejacket. See the list of recommended equipment for further details.

After the training session you will be added to the club's online kayak booking system to make your kayak bookings, and our KSC Social groups on WhatsApp to link up with fellow members and arrange kayak trips.

While you wait, we encourage you to take advantage of Sydney Harbour Kayak’s Introduction to Kayaking lesson.  This will allow you to try paddling and decide if it’s for you, before purchasing a life jacket and paddle.  This is a very good half day (3 hour) exercise.

KSC Membership fees:

  • New members - $244 for year one.  Covering the $50 joining fee including the Paddle Safety training plus $194 (Kayak Share Club annual fee of $100 and Paddle Australia annual fee of $94).  The Paddle Australia fee is mandatory and provides membership of PA and excellent paddle personal accident and public liability coverage.
  • Existing members - $194 annually.  ($100 for the Kayak Share Club annual fee and $94 for the Paddle Australia annual fee).
