HOW THE CLUB WORKS!
- We are a community-run, not-for-profit kayak club with a difference – a share principle.
- The club-nominated kayaks used are provided by other club members for use on an equitable community access share principle and at no charge.
- All new members are required to do a paddle safety training course involving paddle technique, water safety, and capsize/self-rescue and assisted rescue skills before being able to use any kayak.
- Participants need to join Kayak Share Club via Paddle Australia (NSW) ($160 fee as a recreational adult member for 12 months). This provides personal accident insurance and public liability while paddling,
- After joining, paddlers need to supply their own life-jacket and paddle.
- There are no costs for using a kayak, as they are not rented or hired.
- Members can book a kayak using the Club’s online booking system up to 3 days ahead.
- Each kayak has a code and combination lock for use by members only.
- Kayaks vary in type from easy sit-on-tops, a double, ski's and touring kayaks for longer trips.
